I recently bought a car from your Subaru dealership, through dimitri and Todd.  Quick note to say it was a remarkable experience.  As car dealerships work to move away from the shadows where they sold from for years, it takes professionals like Todd and Dimitri, who exemplify forward-looking sales process, to succeed in that effort.  I sincerely felt I could trust them, and that they were working to me the best vehicle based on my needs.

 

This meant I had to let go of my preconceived notions.  In the end, I find myself in a new Subaru when I thought used vehicle was best.

 

One never knows ifs/he did well in their vehicle purchase, but I am happy.  I believe the functionality/price relationship fit my desires very well.

I bought a used Honda from their preowned lot at Chaplins yesterday.  So far so good.  I will keep you posted on the car, if there is something wrong with it I will downgrade my rating but for now and based soley on the assistance provided to us by a gentleman named Chris, I will give them top marks.  We have been down to Honda Auto center (Bellevue Honda) working with a guy named Eddie who could not understand that I had a budget, a trade in and didn’t want to use credit.  Chris on the other hand was polite (eventhough I accidentally went for a joy-ride in the car before they had authorized a test drive) and understood exactly what I told him.  He worked on the price and we ended up going 500 over our budget and got a fair value for a really nice little Chev truck we traded in (made me a little misty).  I would reccomend Chris to anyone looking for any new or used car in the greater Seattle area.  We searched for three weeks until we found this dealership and the right vehicle (I think) and Chris.  Danny was also helpful.  Thanks guys.

I give these guys the highest marks for many reasons. I hope other dealerships read this and learn from it:

- Buying from the USAA program prices, they presented a sale price that was a exact match (actually -$200 from the “best price” USAA presented). There were absolutely no hidden costs or unwanted add-ons. There was absolutely no need for me to haggle on cost – I was satisfied with the first number presented. I asked for a set of mats and full tank of gas to sweeten the deal and they didn’t flinch. The first dealer I visited Aubrun VW presented the same USAA program that was + 500 dollars (unexplained) and ridiculous packages that added another 600 bucks, putting this car back to MSRP. Also they included a “Northwest Adjustment” of $1800 which is a flat-out joke. Chaplin’s does not play games and is incredibly fair.

- They extended the 1.9% APR for the Golf TDI and the financing process was simple

- Gary V. my sales guy let me drive the car on my own – he gave me the keys and says “have fun.” Wow, when does that EVER hapen? It was great to test drive without the sales guy talking my ear off. This allowed me to form my own conclusions on the car and guess what? I fell in love with the car and its performance sold itself. I think this is a policy with Chaplain’s and it’s just brilliant.

- The part of the sales process I dread is the paperwork where you’re typically heavily pitched the add-ons warranties, etc. Dimitri presented these options, but it was an amazingly soft sell and he presented the pros and cons of each.  Paper work was done in 15 min – a record.

-  The walkthrough with the car was thorough and the experience with Gary V. was excellent.
